My Weapon of Choice: Education

Kara, this is so profound. Growing up in in a carribean household, there was an immense importance placed on the value of education. To be educated was a privilege, therefore it was treasured and maximized. In American I do not see that as a common value or thread within the black community and fear that, that may be one of the underlying issues that affect school drop-out rates.
